Adamawa Police Arrest 40-Year-Old Man for Allegedly Killing Father, Dumping Corpse in Well

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Peter Sinamai, for the alleged murder of his biological father in Sangere, Gombi Local Government Area.
The suspect reportedly dumped his father’s corpse inside a neighborhood well after committing the crime. Police operatives apprehended Sinamai on Friday, August 7, 2026, following a direct report detailed by local residents.
Ongoing Investigation
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that preliminary investigations substantiate the allegations against the suspect.
In response to the incident, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, has ordered a comprehensive investigation to uncover the motive and exact circumstances surrounding the killing.
Legal Action Pending
Emergency responders have successfully recovered the victim’s body from the well. The corpse has since been deposited at a local mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to verify the official cause of death.
SP Nguroje assured members of the public that the command will maintain transparency throughout the process, noting that the suspect will be formally charged in a court of law as soon as the investigation is finalized.
