Nigerians in South Africa Raise Alarm Over Fresh Xenophobic Attack

Nigerians living in South Africa have raised urgent concerns over a new wave of xenophobic threats led by the anti-immigrant group Operation Dudula. Community leaders are calling for immediate diplomatic intervention amid reports of harassment and attacks targeting foreign nationals.

In a viral video, a leader of the group was seen ordering non-South Africans out of a public hospital, declaring, “If you know yourself that you are not a South African, please stand up. Stand up right now. Don’t try us because we are going to check everybody.” Founded as a grassroots campaign, Operation Dudula claims to combat illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and job displacement by undocumented foreigners. Its members have been blocking access to clinics, inspecting businesses, and confronting immigrants.
